Lindsie Micko begins her third season at the University of New Mexico as an assistant swim coach. Prior to working at UNM, Micko was the head coach for the Snowfox swim team in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. There she coached nationally ranked swimmers, numerous state record holders and state champions. In 2000 and 2001 she was given the Ernie Gunderson Award for advancing swimming in the state of South Dakota. A native of Brookings, S.D., Micko is a 1994 graduate of South Dakota State University with a degree in HPER. Her emphasis was in the area of fitness and wellness and she also earned a minor in spanish. To date, she has completed coursework toward her masters in exercise physiology. Micko was a three-year letterwinner for the Jackrabbits' swim team and was a team captain and named team MVP in the 1992-93 season. |
