Results

The University of New Mexico fell to UNLV in its final meet of the regular season today. The Rebels held the Lobos to three first place finishes, resulting in a final score of 195-103.

At Sandia High School, the divers controlled the board sweeping the top three spots on both boards. Alexandra Lusk led the Lobos on the 3-meter dive finishing in first-place with a score of 262.73. Aubrey Bush followed in second (253.96), and Sasha Evangulova in third (244.65). Rounding out the competition was Ashlee Erickson with a fifth-place finish.

On the 1-meter dive Evangulova placed first with a mark of 288.98. She was followed by Lusk in second (285.59), Erickson in third (262.34), and Bush in fifth.

At West Mesa Pool, the swimmers battled UNLV with Maria Dudley picking up the only first-place finish in the pool. Dudley captured the top spot in the 500-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 5:13.06. Jennifer Burgess placed second in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:49.19. Marissa Campbell picked up a second-place finish for the Lobos in the 100-yard backstroke (59.30). Campbell also placed second in the 100-yard butterfly (58.43).

The Lobos finished the regular season 2-8 and 1-6 in Mountain West Conference meets. The team will take a break from competition before traveling to Oklahoma City, Okla. for the Mountain West Conference Championships Feb. 25-28.
