Aubrey Bush Captures First in 3-Meter Finals at Arizona Diving Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Lobo diving team wrapped up its first day of competition in Tucson, Arizona at the Arizona Diving Invite today with a win in the 3-meter springboard. New Mexico junior Aubrey Bush placed first for the Lobos with a final score of 313.05. Bush beat out tough competition from schools such as Stanford, Arizona, Arizona State, USC, and Nevada to reach her first place finish. "I am absolutely thrilled and ecstatic with the way our girls performed today," state Diving coach Abel Sanchez. "Most of the schools from the Southwest are attending this invite and for Aubrey to beat 61 other girls is unbelievable." The junior who hails from Franktown, Colo. is having a great season coming off of her first place finish at the Mountain West Conference Championships on the Platform making her the 209-2010 Platform Champion. Newcomer Megan Harper who stems from Phoenix, Ariz. placed third in the consolation making her eleventh overall in the 3-meter. She had a final score of 285.15. The freshman has had a stellar season for the Lobos as well placing first in the both the 1- and 3-meter springboards during dual meets and qualifying for NCAA Zones.
