ANYA'S ACTION SHOTS

Came to UNM in January 2008...had a rough beginning, but has improved tremendously...came ready to play this year and to challenge to get into the lineup...has a very versatile game... one of the most effective at the net on the team...look for her to make some creative plays.

2008-09:: Villanueva-Forte saw a lot more action this year than her freshman year as a Lobo...went 7-13 overall and each match she won in the spring she dominated by winning in two sets.

Villanueva-Forte went 12-20 overall in doubles spending most of her time with Bonner.

2007-08: Went 1-1 in doubles with partner Maria Sotirchos at the No. 3 spot...earned the Academic All-MWC Conference, MWC Scholar-Athlete Award and ITA Scholar Athlete awards.

HIGH SCHOOL: Joins the Lobos for the Spring 2008 season... graduated from Tec de Monterrey High School in Mexico City, Mexico.

PERSONAL: Born September 5, 1987... daughter of Carlos Villanueva and Ana Virginia Forte... has one older sister, Karla and an older brother, Roberto... favorite food is chiles en nogada... favorite athlete is Andy Roddick... plans to major in Journalism.
