She is a 2010 graduate from Blyth Academy in Toronto, Ontario. She received the bronze medal in the Ontario Federation of School Athlete Association high school tennis tournament. She was named MVP in cross country, and volleyball; also named athlete of the year in 2008. Personal She is the daughter of Lynda and Ian Wookey. She has one brother Jonny, and one sister Emma. She has many nicknames given by the team such as "Wooks", "Chewbacca", and "Chewy." She plans to major in Exercise Science. Head Coach Roy Canada on Wookey: "Katie is a great addition to our team. She is a hard worker with excellent athletic abilities. Her tennis is loaded with potential that is bound to explode as her experience level rises." Assistant Coach Michelle Heidbrink on Wookey: "Katie is a very talented athlete with a bunch of potential. She has so much passion for tennis and is very coachable. I know the experience she is getting in her first year as a college player is going to pay off and she is going to continue to improve." |
