Lobo Volleyball Releases Spring Schedule
Feb. 27, 2012
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of New Mexico volleyball team graduated a trio of seniors in Kelly Williamson, Allison Buck and Ashley Rhoades, each of whom helped the Lobos to two NCAA Tournament appearances during their four year tenures. Now, as the team readies for the 2012 season, the Lobos will take to the court for a four-week spring schedule that will culminate with the annual Grass Bash on April 21 and 22. The Lobos will play a squad compiled of UNM Alums on March 29 and will also host an eight-team invitational tournament on March 31. Teams invited to the tournament include: Adams State, UNM Alumni, New Mexico Highlands, New Mexico State, UTEP, New Mexico Military Institute and Texas Tech. The Lobos will also travel twice; on April 7 to New Mexico State and April 14 to Colorado State. The spring season will lead up to the annual Grass Bash, which serves as a fundraiser for the UNM Children's Hospital and the Lobo Scholarship Fund. The Grass Bash is set to take place April 21-22. "I feel this is a very solid spring schedule for our team and should really help prepare us for next fall," head coach Jeff Nelson, who will be entering his sixth season, said. Spring Schedule 2011
