Lobo Pallavolo Capi in Italia per Tour All'estero!
May 25, 2012
This week, New Mexican cuisine. Next week, pasta. Lots and lots of pasta. And sights, and bonding, and most importantly ... lots of volleyball. The Lobo Women's Volleyball team will take off on a 12-day excursion to Italy and Slovenia starting on May 30.
The team will spend ten days touring and competing, playing at least six matches during their visit. The Lobos will take on the likes of the Italian and Slovenian Junior National teams, as well as the Algerian National team. In addition to playing, the team will be able to do some sightseeing in Milan, Rome, Venice and Maribor, Slovenia. The team will be visiting the Vatican during their stay in Rome.
"This is a great opportunity for our Lobo team to get some high quality play and great experiences" said Head Coach Jeff Nelson.
"I am so excited to go to Italy. It is an opportunity that I am truly thankful to be a part of. The team has been training hard and we can't wait to compete overseas" added senior-to-be Jordan Russell.
The best way for fans to follow along with the journey is through the volleyball teams' Facebook (University of New Mexico Volleyball), Twitter (UNMVolley) and team blog (unmvolley.blogspot.com) as often as possible as the team will update them with stories, journal entries from each of the players, and pictures from the trip abroad.
