“We’ve made a lot of progress playing a top-20 team as we did tonight," said head coach Kelley Sliva. "In the first game we were able to take out their middles, but we didn’t serve strong or pass well enough to win. I’m pleased with our overall effort and I know we can play better. If we do the things we need to do to improve, serving and passing, then we can play better. We just have to make good decisions.”
The Lobos will host Wyoming and Colorado State next week in The Pit, Oct. 11-12. Both matches are slated for a 7 p.m. start. The CSU match will be played before the annual Lobo Howl showcasing the men’s and women’s basketball team.
