Lobos Tied for Second After Two Rounds of Arizona Intercollegiate

TUCSON, Ariz. –– The No. 19 New Mexico men’s golf team began play Monday at the Arizona Intercollegiate with the first two rounds at Tucson Country Club. The Lobos shot 2-under during the opening 36 holes to finish the day tied for second place.

The Lobos shot 1-over in the morning’s first round before a 3-under par second round in the afternoon. No. 11 Arizona, the tournament host, is the 36-hole leader at 8-under par, six shots ahead of the Lobos and Long Beach State. Those three teams are the only three under par through two rounds of play.

Bastien Amat is the top Lobo on the individual leaderboard, sitting T-2nd at 4-under after rounds of 69 and 71. Albert Boneta and Carson Herron are both T-8th at 1-under. Boneta shot rounds of 73 and 70, while Herron shot a 67 in the second round after a 76 in the morning. Matthew Watkins is a 4-over, while David Davila rounded out the lineup at 17-over. Carson Adams, playing as an individual, is also in the top 10, in seventh place at 2-under.

The Arizona Intercollegiate will conclude on Tuesday at Tucson Country Club.
