Lehigh Leads, Lobos Climb to Third on Day Two of Mountain West Championship

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – The New Mexico women’s golf team continued play Wednesday at the 2024 Mountain West Championship with the second round at the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at the Mission Hills Country Club. The Lobos, looking to repeat as conference champion, shot the low round of the day, 7-under, to climb to third place at 2-over for the event.

San Jose State continues to lead the tournament with a 8-under score through 36 holes. UNLV is second at 1-over, while the Lobos (2-over), Colorado State (6-over) and Nevada (10-over) round out the top five.

Lauren Lehigh and Myah McDonald led the Lobos charge on Wednesday, tying for the individual low round of the day, each carding a 3-under 69 in the second round. Lehigh is the tournament’s 36-hole individual leader at 5-under, entering the final round with a two-shot lead. McDonald is tied for second on the individual leaderboard at 3-under. Lisa-Marie Pagliano also shot in red figures on Wednesday, posting a 1-under 71, while Maria Caparros Levin shot even par 72 on Wednesday. Annie Saechueng rounded out the Lobo lineup with a 76 in the second round.

“Everyone played their part today,” said head coach Jill Trujillo. “We put ourselves in contention as we head into the final round, which Is what we needed to do today. I am very proud of all of them for gutting it out.”

The Mountain West Championship will conclude on Thursday at Mission Hills.
